Global experiences are imperative for work skill development in STEM as US graduates will research, work alongside, and/or serve global populations. In this interactive session, participants will uncover the diverse nature of the STEM workforce to vocalize the importance of global learning. Participants will discuss relevant skills needed to be successful in STEM fields and how to promote and justify these experiences during academia.

Learning Objectives:

Distinguish between US STEM Employers and other field: STEM fields in the US are extremely diverse due to the participation of international students and foreign born workers that make up these fields.
Interpret needed skills in a diverse workplace.
Implement US student experience with intercultural communication within the STEM environment.
Justify the need for global experiences for students pursuing STEM careers.
