Employer co-creation workshop: what makes an ideal internship?

As part of an Erasmus+ project, we organised a co-creation workshop with employers to understand how best to shape the future of global internships. Based on the knowledge we acquired, we will do a demo of the workshop, asking local employers for their input. The format of the co-creation workshop can be used to bring the employer's voice into the discussion around skills development in a systematic way.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participants will have a clear understanding of how to implement similar employer engagement strategies within their own institutions.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to design and facilitate a co-creation workshop that effectively engages employers in discussions on skills development and global internship design (at least we hope we have given them the tools and confidence to do so).
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to apply a structured methodology to systematically gather and integrate employer insights into curriculum and internship program development.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to leverage practical tools and resources to implement employer engagement strategies that enhance student employability and workforce readiness.
